LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- David Duchovny has entered a rehabilitation facility for sex addiction.


Actor David Duchovny starred in this summer's second "X-Files" movie.

In a statement released Thursday by his lawyer, Stanton Stein, the actor said he did so voluntarily, adding, "I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family."

The actor's publicist, Flo Grace, confirmed the rehab report, which first appeared on People.com.

She and Stein both declined to elaborate further.

Duchovny plays a sex-obsessed character on the Showtime series "Californication," which earned Emmy nominations for casting and cinematography. The show's second season begins September 28.

Duchovny, 48, best known for the role of Agent Fox Mulder on "The X-Files," has been married to actress Tea Leoni since 1997. They have two children

This shit is sad.....I know the feeling this guy has but not even in a fraction of his experience. I always felt that I was born too late. I dreamt of putting out a vinyl of my own for as long as I could remember. By the time I finally got my first vinyl released it was too freakin' late. Vinyl wasn't selling as good as it used to for hip hop or any other music for that matter. So My Vinyl Single of "Who's The Man" Featuring Dj Spinna, Ras Kass, And Vinia Mojica will most likely prove to be my first and last vinyl. But who knows? Never say never right?..... Either way I got 3 monumental artists together for one vinyl that i'll always be proud of.....This vid is for all my vinyl and music lovers.....I'm also quite convinced it's not as dead as we think......Anyone wanna go diggin?.....

We previously noted on the RapReviews newsfeed this single may never see an official release due to an uncleared sample, even though Jean Grae and Wrekonize cameo on the track and a fly video has been shot for the song. Honestly I don't think the previous blurb did justice to the inustice of the situation.. There are not many producers OR DJ's out there today who are mixing Final Fantasy samples in their songs, and if Square Enix are not smart enough to realize this promotes their games AND they can get paid off it to boot well that's their fault. It's certainly not Jean Grae's fault, who describes herself as a "verbal masochist" while simultaneously seducing hip-hop in his essence and reality. It definitely isn't Wrek's fault, even though he outright says "f-f-f-FUCK radio play" in his opening verse. It's strictly a beautiful presentation, set off not only by dope samples but by I-Dee showing some MAD FLEX on the wheels of steel. There just aren't enough hip-hop singles with this kind of turntablism skill these days, so if you want your fix of the best rap song to sample from a video game Smif-N-Wessun became the Super Cocoa Brovaz, pray the sample is cleared before I-Dee's album drops later this month.

R.I.P Isaac Hayes

Wow.....First George Carlin.....then.....Bernie Mac......and now one of the music greats of all time....Isaac Hayes.....This guy was the apex of the word Musician.....he's composed some of my favorite pieces of music to date......he'll be missed......nuff said.....

(CNN) -- Soul singer and arranger Isaac Hayes, who won Grammy awards and an Oscar for the theme from the 1971 action film "Shaft," has died, sheriff's officials in Memphis, Tennessee, reported Sunday.


Relatives found Hayes, 65, unconscious in his home next to a still-running treadmill, said Steve Shular, a spokesman for the Shelby County Sheriff's Department.

Paramedics attempted to revive him and took him to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2 p.m., the sheriff's department said.

No foul play is suspected, the agency said in a written statement.

Hayes was a longtime songwriter and arranger for Stax Records in Memphis, playing in the studio's backup band and crafting tunes for artists such as Otis Redding and Sam and Dave in the 1960s.

He released his first solo album in 1967, and his 1969 follow-up, "Hot Buttered Soul," became a platinum hit.
In 1971, the theme from "Shaft" topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks and won an Academy Award for best original theme song. The song and the movie score also won Grammy awards for best original score and movie theme.
Hayes won a third Grammy for pop instrumental performance with the title track to his 1972 "Black Moses" album.

From the late 1990s through 2006, Hayes provided the voice of "Chef" for Comedy Central's raunchy animated series "South Park," as well as numerous songs.

The role introduced him to a new generation of fans, but he left after the show lampooned his own religion, the Church of Scientology.

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. In a CNN interview at the time, Hayes credited his success to "adjusting and constantly evolving, expanding and trying to stay as young as I can."

The new generation of popular musicians, he said, "could use a little more substance like we had in the day."
"They're standing on our shoulders. Some of them don't realize [it] because they sample me so much," he said.
Hayes credited his role on "South Park" with expanding his fan base, and said that he had almost passed on the job.
"I started to walk out. I thought it was a Disney thing. I [had] never heard of this thing," he said. But his agent persuaded him to tape some episodes.

"Toward the opening I started having trepidations -- 'Oh my god, what have I done? I've ruined my career.' But when it aired, the ratings went through the roof," he said.


A 1992 visit to the royal family in Ghana was a life-changing experience for Hayes, he said.
"I went back on speaking engagements and encouraged African-Americans to go to Africa [to] interact socially, culturally and/or economically," he said.
